The Dreamscape Project

This year I’ve launched an international non-profit collaborative art project called ‘The Dreamscape Project’. This project will see me work with seriously ill &/or disabled children in Auckland and New York- but I need your help to make it happen!

I’ve started a fundraising campaign on crowd-funding site indiegogo.com. The money raised will help me to afford the cost of the art materials but most importantly, it will allow me to invest the significant amount of time needed to make this project a success. In return I’m offering rewards for donations, which range from hand-written thank you postcards with doodles drawn on them, to limited edition art prints, to original sketches created for the Dreamscape Project!

The watercolour was added afterwards in my studio.

LIVE ART at the Big Day Out festival 2012!

Cassette Nine kindly invited me back for the second year to make art live at the Big Day Out! It turned out to be the last year of the festival, so it was awesome to be there...

Cassette 9 are bringing live art to the Big Day Out again, 

and I'll be painting for the second year running! Yay.

10 NZ artists have been selected to make art live in Cassette's zone 

during the music festival, and will each have a massive A0 canvas to work on. Bring on the hippies!

Last year was mad and this year should be even better...I'm bringing along my friend Selina as my art assistant for the day...She's good quality.

Art With Love exhibition pics

Upcoming exhibition at CEAC Gallery!

To kick off the new year CEAC Gallery are having an exhibition of contemporary illustrators, and curator Anne-Sophie Adelys kindly invited me to show some work. I'm exhibiting my Mucha-themed portrait of friend and burlesque artist Mary Macgregor-Reid.

Burlesque Artist Mary Magdalena as Salome, ink and watercolour on hot-pressed archival watercolour paper, 2011, 240x528(unframed)

  Friend and burlesque artist Mary McGregor-Reid (stage name Mary Magdalena) recently performed in this Salome-inspired costume- and floored me. I wanted to capture her power and seduction in a portrait. An Alphonse Mucha/Art Nouveau tribute seemed only appropriate as Mary and I share a love for the style, and Mucha was known to present his women as earthly Goddesses.

I will also have limited edition fine art prints available for purchase in the CEAC Gallery shop.

These are signed and numbered, 300x400mm(unframed) giclee prints on archival photo-rag paper. Yum! SERIOUSLY limited edition as only four of each were made and half the prints are already sold...First in first served! $200 each.
